About Kerry Design
Kerry Design aims to create sensitive architecture. Sensitive to the client, the location and the surrounding vernacular. Dedicated to sustainable architecture, this is at the very core of all our designs.
To carefully guide you through the design process and make it an enjoyable experience is hugely important to us. Ultimately designing you a building which makes life easier and promotes well-being.
Optimal orientation, sustainable insulation and materials; and a commitment to reducing our carbon footprint are at the heart of all our designs. We use Passiv House principals to help achieve this.
Low energy should also mean low cost, within the building fabric and the future running costs. Simplicity in the design, reduces labour costs and complicated detailing.
I have been working in the architectural profession for over 20 years and for myself, Kerry Design, for over 10. I am passionate about low energy architecture, and strive to achieve high quality design in every project. I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know and understand what they want to achieve. Every project is exciting and I hope to bring a fresh pair of eyes and experience to elevate even the potentially mundane.
I have worked on a vast array of differing project types and scale. Small domestic extensions; one off new build houses; experimental eco houses; commercial projects and refurbishing public houses up and down the country.
I am passionate about Wirksworth, my home. This is where I choose to work and live. I have been working with the local planning authorities for years and have built up a good rapport.
The town has a vast and varied history, I am keen to preserve this, not by replicating the vernacular of the past, but by being sensitive to it, enhancing and conserving it for future generations.
No two projects are the same, therefore I have amassed a wide and varied technical knowledge. I look to work closely with all my clients and offer a truly bespoke service.
